Where: Willow Pond at Look Park, Northampton, MA
Who: Children ages 14 and under (must be supervised by an adult)
Cops & Bobbers, Hooks & Ladders is a free program, open to the public, where kids under the age of 14 can fish in a stocked pond and meet members of the Northampton police and fire departments, as well as environmental and wildlife law enforcement officials.
Willow pond will be stocked with trout from the Berkshire National Fish Hatchery and Hy-On-The-Hill Trout Hatchery in Plainfield, NH.
You can participate even if you do not have your own fishing equipment. Mass Wildlife Angler Education Program will be on-site with loaner rods and reels, and will provide instruction for anyone who has never fished or just needs a refresher. Bait will also be provided.
Each child will be entered into the free raffle, with a variety of fishing related prizes.
Members of the Northampton Police and Fire Departments, Massachusetts Environmental Police, and US Fish and Wildlife Service Federal Wildlife Officers will participate in the program, helping kids to fish and giving them an up-close view of a variety of law enforcement vehicles and equipment.
